The bloused dress is based around the idea of a classic shirt dress, but with just the right mix of ultra modern detailing (check out the raglan lines to the neck) and vintage overtones. Think 1930's classic day dresses. An elegant, style that just skims the figure and can be belted to accentuate the waist. The skirt falls smoothly hitting just below the knee, and the bodice finishes off with the classic high neckline and blouse like sleeves of a 1930's day dress. For a modern casual interpretation wear it unbelted and loose, team it with sneakers, slides, or layered like a tunic over leggings or tapered pant. For a more sophisticated interpretation, unbutton and wrap over the fronts to transform it into a fitted mock-wrap dress, throw on a pair of heels, gorgeous for an evening out. Or keep it buttoned and belted - perfect for work.
Available in Black, Ash and Evening Blue. Evening Blue is the darker side of mid blue with a slightly denim look and a merest hint of purple. Swatch photo available only.

flattering long line silhouette, that 'skims' the figure, falling to just below the knee / midi length
high, crescent shaped, faced neckline
semi fitted bodice with front and back raglan feature panels
Centre front closing (hidden button closure) runs the length of the dress, giving plenty of options for styling
set-in 3/4 length sleeve, slightly bloused, finished with double pleat at the cuff (like a mens shirt)
bodice is joined to skirt at the waist and can be cinched in with self belt
Front of skirt has flat double pleats at waist line and curved inset pockets.
back skirt is very lightly gathered to the back waist, has a feature yoke panel that lines up with the lower pocket to create a continuous line.
wear it: open like a long line jacket. Causally and slightly unbuttoned at the neck and knee, wrapped, belted ....
rayon 58% viscose 42%
The day dresses of the 1930s were often made from Rayon Viscose, a new fabric of the time, with beautiful drape, and so is ours.
A cool hand wash is possible but I recommend dry cleaning the Bloused Dress.
WHO MADE THE BLOUSED DRESS?
The bloused dress has 16 seperate pattern pieces and makes for fairly complex construction. Our super clever shirt maker sews the entire dress from beginning to end. No production line, just care and attention to every detail. The Bloused dress is made right here in Perth.
size and fit
The bloused dress is designed to 'skim' the figure, as the belt is used to cinch the waist and cause a slight blousing effect. The Bloused dress is true to size - please check the size guide to compare your measurements. I am always happy to answer any fit queries - my contact details are on the contact page.
Meaghan my model is tall and athletic, she is normally a size 8, and wears the size 8 Bloused dress.
